below are some shoes that just blew my socks off! im not sure how practical or how comfortable they would be but i wanted to get them out there. these are from Barbara Bui. if these arent high, i dont know what is!!! they look heavy and if you look close enough, i think they are too big for this model. her toes are barely seen! who thinks they can pull off these plastic boots? when i laid my eyes on them the first thing i thought of was, wouldn't their feet sweat in those? with these shoes a woman would have to get a pedi and shave carefully every single time. these aren't the kind of shoes you can mess around with and walk around with ugly and unshaved legs!!! these white shoes from Givenchy! how ridiculous are these? what would you wear with them? i feel sorry for those people like me who have really short legs and can't really wear those super high hooker-looking shoes these marc jacobs are by far the craziest shoes i have seen! who is going to take this kind of pain? the girl in this picture looks like shes already losing her balance haha! these are definately those kind of heels where you have to avoid any cracks, pot holes and any pavement that will twist your ankle.
i think everyone by now owns at least one pair of either vans or chucks. many people aren't aware that you can customize your own online! they can help you choose the inside color, stiching, and much more on their website. it costs $60 flat and takes a few weeks to ship. you can even add some writing with some initials or words on the chucks. it's nice because most people always have the same color and it's not unique but i think it's kinda neat that you are able to design your own. chucks aren't that comfortable though, i prefer vans for the comfort but i believe chucks have more options to design the shoe. they have patterns also, and shoe laces come in a lot of colors. if you get bored check it out!!
in my other blog i talked about how i couldn't wear high heels for too long or my feet hurt, just in time i found out about these shoes called Camileon Heels. they're just like any other pair or heels, opened and closed toed, except you can adjust the heel!it's perfect for those women who have to commute just to get to work. all you do is pop the heel inside and it stays until you pop it out. SO it looks like you're wearing flats almost. the heel only adjusts half way but when you get tired, thats enough to keep you comfortable the rest of the day. unfortunately these shoes aren't available in any stores. only online at this website. http://www.camileonheels.com/ , http://www.zappos.com/, and http://www.eneslow.com/html/launch.cfm?itemCategory=23&siteid=4&priorId=0. their selection isn't huge but they have some cute ones. the other negative side to it is that the shoes cost about $300. when you think about it, they are practical and you'll wear them more if they are heel adjustable!
has anyone heard of Cole Haan? the first time i heard about this shoe company was when i was watching Oprah's show. Cole Haan designs fashionable shoes for men and women BUT they use materials that they put into sneakers to make the shoes comfortable. if you go to their website, http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/home.jsp , their shoes are #300 and up depending but they are comfortable heels! they have heels, flats, boots, bags, clothing and everything else a woman needs.
i know high heels look beautiful on a woman, the illusion of having longer and leaner legs with thinner ankles is a plus for some women. it wasn't until i wore heels for an entire 8 hour shift that i realized how much damage i had done to my feet. my arch was stinging and my toes were red from all the pressure of standing up and walking up and downstairs. it was a disaster! i said to myself, never again will i torture myself just to have leaner and longer legs! so i did a little research and found out the harsh reality of the long term effects. i found that there is something called achilles tendon. basically, it's the calf muscle that connects with the heel bone. supposably, if youre a frequent user of high heels that particular part of your leg gets shorter over a certain time. that is why the heel and arch hurt sometimes. it's always good to rotate which pair of shoes you wear to work, dinner, parties or a night out. the lower the heel the better, or just simply wear flats. you could severely damage your nerves if the heel is always high. on the other hand you can somewhat help your feet by wearing wedges because of the support all around. as we all know, there can be jelly pads that can easily be slipped into the soles of the shoes, even if they are opened toed. what i do (on occassion) is take some flats and heels and change like 3 or 4 hours later at work. luckily, heels are not required at my job! if they were i would be asking for blisters, hammertoes, bunions, calluses and other disgusting things on my feet! i hope everyone found this as useful as i did. think again before you buy 4 inch heels!
happy spring everyone, i hope everyone had a great weekend with their families for easter. one of the things i love about spring is the weather!! no need for those big jackets that we wore for winter anymore. its time to store those away for next winter! one of my favorite things for spring are definately the color selection for this season, lately ive seen lots of nautical styles with navy blue, yellows, greens, oranges and reds. as you all know, im excited to get new shoes to show off my pedi. has anyone seen gucci's new line? the sevigny heels are to die for! not to mention the black newton pumps!! these gucci shoes are both over $700. jimmy choo has these gorgeous red patent peep toe heels called Eliza that are just amazing, but ill be on the look out for these styles at steve madden.
most women would agree to being shop-aholics like me. i'm SO guilty in that area. my main addiction is shoes, i have 48 to be exact. i have heels, flats, and sandals in every color and style and i still feel like i have nothing to wear! im a student so i cant afford to buy manolos or jimmy choos (i would love to) but there is no way so i find shoes everywhere i go. most importantly they are affordable, but when the season is over-i'm completely over the shoes! so it's time to toss and buy new ones! steve madden has a lot of afordable shoes like these http://www.stevemadden.com/item_detail.aspx?img=//zoomcc.richfx.com.edgesuite.net/zoomcc_stevemadden/image/media/MULBERIE_RED-PATENT_zoom.jpg not only are they perfect for spring but summer too! they are very practical. dresses, shorts, capris, skirts you name it. see, you can find some adorable shoes at a decent price without having to go to saks or neiman marcus! i have been wearing his shoes for years and i always ALWAYS get compliments, i love buying them also because i get my moneys worth. he has funky styles sometimes, and i dont think they are for everyone but with a fabulous bag you can pull it off!
