do you know the long term effects of high heels?

i know high heels look beautiful on a woman, the illusion of having longer and leaner legs with thinner ankles is a plus for some women. it wasn't until i wore heels for an entire 8 hour shift that i realized how much damage i had done to my feet. my arch was stinging and my toes were red from all the pressure of standing up and walking up and downstairs. it was a disaster! i said to myself, never again will i torture myself just to have leaner and longer legs! so i did a little research and found out the harsh reality of the long term effects. i found that there is something called achilles tendon. basically, it's the calf muscle that connects with the heel bone. supposably, if youre a frequent user of high heels that particular part of your leg gets shorter over a certain time. that is why the heel and arch hurt sometimes. it's always good to rotate which pair of shoes you wear to work, dinner, parties or a night out. the lower the heel the better, or just simply wear flats. you could severely damage your nerves if the heel is always high. on the other hand you can somewhat help your feet by wearing wedges because of the support all around. as we all know, there can be jelly pads that can easily be slipped into the soles of the shoes, even if they are opened toed. what i do (on occassion) is take some flats and heels and change like 3 or 4 hours later at work. luckily, heels are not required at my job! if they were i would be asking for blisters, hammertoes, bunions, calluses and other disgusting things on my feet! i hope everyone found this as useful as i did. think again before you buy 4 inch heels!

spring!

happy spring everyone, i hope everyone had a great weekend with their families for easter. one of the things i love about spring is the weather!! no need for those big jackets that we wore for winter anymore. its time to store those away for next winter! one of my favorite things for spring are definately the color selection for this season, lately ive seen lots of nautical styles with navy blue, yellows, greens, oranges and reds. as you all know, im excited to get new shoes to show off my pedi. has anyone seen gucci's new line? the sevigny heels are to die for! not to mention the black newton pumps!! these gucci shoes are both over $700. jimmy choo has these gorgeous red patent peep toe heels called Eliza that are just amazing, but ill be on the look out for these styles at steve madden.

steve madden

most women would agree to being shop-aholics like me. i'm SO guilty in that area. my main addiction is shoes, i have 48 to be exact. i have heels, flats, and sandals in every color and style and i still feel like i have nothing to wear! im a student so i cant afford to buy manolos or jimmy choos (i would love to) but there is no way so i find shoes everywhere i go. most importantly they are affordable, but when the season is over-i'm completely over the shoes! so it's time to toss and buy new ones! steve madden has a lot of afordable shoes like these http://www.stevemadden.com/item_detail.aspx?img=//zoomcc.richfx.com.edgesuite.net/zoomcc_stevemadden/image/media/MULBERIE_RED-PATENT_zoom.jpg not only are they perfect for spring but summer too! they are very practical. dresses, shorts, capris, skirts you name it. see, you can find some adorable shoes at a decent price without having to go to saks or neiman marcus! i have been wearing his shoes for years and i always ALWAYS get compliments, i love buying them also because i get my moneys worth. he has funky styles sometimes, and i dont think they are for everyone but with a fabulous bag you can pull it off!
